Frequently Asked Questions on Dome Enclosures  
 
 
1)      With the enclosure, can I use my Spa all year round, especially in colder climates?
Enclosures are designed and built for year round use.  The polycarbonate panels allow the suns rays in while providing superior insulation properties.  The domes frame is equipped with a vinyl sweep that seals in the warm air and keeps drafts out. This creates a warm enclosed environment, minimizing heat loss.
 
  1.   Will the enclosure protect me from the harmful UV rays from the sun?
Yes, polycarbonate panels protect your skin from harmful UV radiation.
 
  1. Will the enclosure prevent children from getting in?
The dome is equipped with locking devices/pins for each door to safely close doors to guard against unwanted entry. However, It is not meant as a replacement for a fence.
 
      4. What sizes does the dome come in?
Sizes from 13’ x 13’ to 17’ x  27’
 
      5. How strong is the polycarbonate?
It is 250 times stronger than glass, 30 times stronger than acrylic, 50% lighter than        glass and will not shatter or crack.
 
      6. What color options do I have?
The polycarbonate is available in Clear or Bronze Shaded Panels for Privacy.  Aluminum extruded arches are available in five different colors - white, beige, dark green, wood-like finish and silver
 
      7. What kind of foundation is required to install the enclosure on?
A flat, level surface is required
Any of the following is acceptable:
  • Minimum 3.5" thick foundation of reinforced concrete
  • Pavers set in Concrete
  • Wood/composite decking
 
      8. What is the enclosure made of?
Polycarbonate panels and aluminum extruded arches; for years of maintenance free enjoyment.
 
      9. Can leaves and bugs get in the enclosure?
No, as long as you keep the doors closed. The domes frame is equipped with a vinyl sweep that prevents this. 
 
    10. What does the enclosure come with?
The enclosure is received ready to install.  The crate consists of floor tracks, polycarbonate panels with aluminum extruded arches, doors, and all necessary hardware.
 
     11. What is the glazing made of?
 Polycarbonate panels are 3mm thick. They provide the perfect combination of strength, light transmission, flexibility, light weight, transparency and weather resistance.
 
 
·         12. What warranty is available?  
o        We provide the following limited warranty for Enclosures: 
o        Polycarbonate panels: Ten Years (from the manufacturer)
o        Aluminum arches and surface finish: Five Years
o        Packing elements, locks and other technical parts: Two Years
o        Installation, if performed by the manufacturer/authorized installer: Two Years
 
   13. What holds the enclosure to the ground?
The enclosure is held to the track which in turn is anchored to the ground.  This allows for easy operation and added security from heavy snow loads or during high wind conditions.
 
   15. How easy and can I install the dome enclosure myself?   
If you are a handy individual, you should not have any issues installing.  The average dome enclosure requires two people, 2-4 hours to install.  The floor rails are mounted to a flat surface, panels are affixed to rail and next roof and doors are installed.
 
   16. Do I need a building permit for this type of enclosure?
The building permit requirements will be determined by your local city or municipality.  If a permit is required, we will provide you with necessary documentation for you to obtain permit approval.
 
 
   17. How do I maintain the enclosure?
No maintenance is required.  The dome is designed so that the homeowner is not required to maintain the enclosure at all.  If you live in an area that produces a lot of dirt or dust, then occasional cleaning with water from a garden hose may be needed.
 
   18. Will the enclosure affect my property taxes?
